Customer Service Excellence Award

27 November 2009

Customer Service ExcellenceWe are delighted to announce that we have now had confirmation from the Cabinet Office that we have been awarded the Customer Service Excellence Award.

This is a wonderful achievement for High Peak Community Housing (HPCH) and it is down to the hardwork and involvement of all our staff, volunteers, tenants and partners.

The Customer Service Excellence Award is a government standard ensuring that public services are efficient, effective, excellent, equitable and empowering – with the citizen always and everywhere at the heart of public service provision. With this in mind Customer Service Excellence was developed to offer public services a practical tool for driving customer-focused change within their organisation.

The foundation of this tool is the Customer Service Excellence standard which tests in great depth those areas that research has indicated are a priority for customers, with particular focus on delivery, timeliness, information, professionalism and staff attitude. There is also emphasis placed on developing customer insight, understanding the user’s experience and robust measurement of service satisfaction. Louise Pearce, Head of Business Services said, “Having tenants and customers at the heart of everything we do is essential to HPCH, and we are proud to be able to share this award with everyone who is involved with us this is a real achievement for the company.

Feedback from the cabinet office, who issues the Customer Service Award, says, “We are delighted to confirm the decision of the Committee is to award HPCH certification against the Customer Service Excellence Standard.  The standard is a very challenging one to meet and is increasingly seen as a measure of a quality service.  The achievement is an acknowledgement of the effort of everyone who works for the organisation, and you should all be congratulated.   Customer Consultation is embedded within the service and is seen as essential for service delivery and development. The service is committed to the provision and development of customer focused services.  There are clear organisational statements that put customers at the heart of service delivery. Members of staff consider that they work for a caring organisation that values their contribution. The attention given to customer consultation is praiseworthy”.
