Tenant Involvement and consultation
We believe that tenant consultation and involvement in our services is extremely important. Your input is vital in making our services as effective as possible. It is your right to be able to get involved and have your say in decisions that affect your home and community. We are committed to providing you with information on all aspects of our services and giving you the opportunity to express your views and opinions.

The Tenants’ Compact
This is an agreement between all our tenants and us. It aims to ensure that all tenants have the chance to influence how their homes and communities are managed. The agreement says how we will consult you, keep you informed and involve you in decisions that directly affect your home and community.

Ways to have your say
Service standards
How can you have your say?
We offer a number of ways to allow you to have your say in the way the Housing Services is run. You can get involved as much or as little as you like.
Area Panels
There are area panels across the Borough. Each panel is made up of tenants, and attended by local councillors and High Peak Community Housing Staff. The panels meet regularly to discuss a wide range of local housing issues and problems. They also discuss how money should be spent in their area.

Borough-wide Tenants and Leaseholders Forum
Representatives from each area panel attend the Tenants Forum. The Forum meets every 2 months and considers changes in service and policies that are to be recommended to the High Peak Community Housing Board. Tenant Representatives pass on views and comments of the area panels to the Forum in order to influence decisions.

Five of the 15-member Board of Management are tenants. These tenant board members also attend the Forum meetings and are able to represent the views of the tenants when taking decisions at Board Meetings.

Tenant Conference
We hold tenant conferences from time to time, and all the tenants are invited to come along. At the conference we provide an update on whats going on, and out priorities for the coming year. You can attend our workshops and visit stalls telling you about our services and those of other organisations.
Local Action Groups
We are in the process of establishing Local Action Groups (LAG) in all our neighbourhoods. These will involve local tenants and residents and High Peak Community Housing working in partnership to develop solutions to local issues. Getting involved with the LAG for your area will be very easy with a wide variety of methods being used to canvass your views such as E-Mail, Text Messaging, Face to Face, Interviews etc.
Tenants Survey
We will carry out regular surveys to find out your views and give you the opportunity to comment. We also send out satisfaction slips with every repair receipt to find out what you think of our repairs service.
Key Players Panel
The key players panel is made up of several hundred tenants who have said they are willing to take part in consultation activities. Members are chosen at random and asked to come to meetings or take part in workshops or surveys.
Single Issue Panels
We also run a number of panels for tenants to give us their views and feedback on different subjects, for example on the following:
The News, Views and Reviews Team – review our newsletter, publications, website, etc
Consumer Panel - reviews customer feedback from surveys and comments forms and suggests ways to improve services.
Grounds Maintenance Monitoring Panel – monitors how well the communal grassed areas and landscaped areas are being maintained.
One Voice Panel – the one voice panel is for all tenants in sheltered accommodation. It meets quarterly at different sheltered sites and considers issues of common interest.
Disability Panel – the Disability Panel is made up of tenants with disabilities. Individual members take part in consultation exercises to ensure that the views and needs of disabled tenants are addressed. All panel members are invited to meetings twice a year.
Expenses and Attendance Allowances
We will reimburse any travel and care costs you may have to pay out in order to attend Panel or Forum meetings. Tenants who attend meetings will also be paid Attendance Allowance.
How will we keep you informed?
We will keep you informed of what is going on and ask for your opinions through newsletters, surveys, public meetings and letters. We will also publish information about our performance on a regular basis.
Tenants’ Newsletters
You will receive a free copy of our Tenants’ Newsletter, called ‘Peak Performance’, 3 times per year. It contains local news, information on our services and up-dates on any changes that are taking place.
